Playing A-K for a reraise against unkown
Villain just sat down. I didn't like my hand much- should I play this differently? EDIT: I mean by the river I'm hoping for a chop, essentially.

I typically don't lead, but it looks fine to me. I don't see you being able to fold after checking turn and river.

I agree, check to him on flop and let him bet for you. I'd also be trying to control the pot, I'm not exactly psyched about playing for stacks here.

Re: Playing A-K for a reraise against unkown
Fold pre-flop See the following thread about AK against a reraise (it was AKs in thread) and chapter 24 of TOP. Also here, this especially looks like you are against AA.

Yes. I've thought along those lines before as well, and your arguement does make sense. Always much better to be the preflop aggressor with A-K and make JJ,QQ and maybe KK think about possibly throwing their hands away.

Re: Playing A-K for a reraise against unkown
Is it wrong to check AK and AQ hands in these situations, OOP I mean? If the flop misses you, you just lay them down, if it hits you, you punch someone in the mouth with your better kicker. Of course, some moron could flop some crazy 2 pair on you, but that's just the brakes. Someone please tell me that I am a weak nit!

Yeah I like playing AK and AQ from the blinds very slow and drop the bomb on someone playing AJ on an ace high flop
