50NL - Flop overpair and lead into - call or raise?
Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter This is a pretty common situation. I would like to make sure I am playing it right. A little table history. There was a 77/15/1 maniac at the table for about an hour that everyone was trying to stack. He did get stacked (not by villian) and left. The table action then came to a crawl. This is about 2 orbits after the maniac left. Villian is 21/21/2 over 40 hands. He doubled up when he had KK and a nit overplayed AK on a dry flop. I am pretty sure this is a WA / WB situation. Hero (BTN): $52.05 SB: $51.25 BB: $50 UTG: $100.05 MP: $51.20 CO: $22.25 Pre-Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN) UTG raises to $2, 2 folds, Hero raises to $5, 2 folds, UTG calls $3 Flop: ($10.75) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $6, Hero ? |

More preflop. I'm probably making it 18 on the flop and calling a push.
Calling and pushing a non club turn is probably fine as well. [ QUOTE ] I am pretty sure this is a WA / WB situation. [/ QUOTE ] It's not, because wa/wb means way ahead/way behind. |

I know what WA / WB means. I am putting Villian on AK, AQ, JJ+. I don't see him doing this with 88-, but I can see a c-bet with AK-AQ.

Re: 50NL - Flop overpair and lead into - call or raise?
Hm I don't get it why we want to get ai here. VPIP 21 raised from UTG that should indicate a somewhat tight range. Sure it's unusual that he doesn't go for a c/r with a decent hand. But I don't see him push a hand we beat or call a push plus the board texture might make him think we won't c-bet always.
I would have voted for calling the flop and reevaluating the turn. Since I'd doubt he'd double barrel AQ etc. ... (And I'd reraise slightly more pre ~6) |
