JJ early (300)
$300 buy-in 3k start chips and 60 entries, 7 prizes.
Its the 3rd orbit or so in the tournament, no read on Villian. I have been involved in one hand where I raised preflop on the button and picked up the pot on the flop so Villian doesnt have a strong read on me either, never played with him before as far as I remember. Stacks: Hero: 3250 Villian: 3000 10/20, 10 players Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raises to 60, 2 folds, Villian raises to 220, 6 folds, Hero calls Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (470) Hero checks, Villian bets 400, Hero..? Do you prefer a something else preflop, lead flop? What to do now, fold/raise (to what amount)/take a card off, is pushing fine? |

Re: JJ early (300)
I like this line. Now make it 1300 or so and call a shove obv.

Re: JJ early (300)
call. There are only 6-8 cards that really scare you on the turn (A or K). Other than that you are pretty much ready to get it in. If you raise to 1300 here, you are only getting shoved by QQ+. I would rather wait for the turn.
Edit: there is literally 1 hand that you beat here and that is AK. The rest of his range calls and has you in not great shape (depending on what PP he has) |

Re: JJ early (300)
I think it's pretty clear he has QQ+ and that is the exact reason I get it in now. Hope that it's KK or AA and you have 10 outs instead of 8. Of course, there's always the chance he missed and is bluffing so I really don't see folding as an option.

Re: JJ early (300)
I can't fold this here, but I'm torn between leading/CRing in terms of FE. If he has AK, you risk giving him a free card, which kinduv sucks (he's won't RR with AK). He's not bluffing here with AK because the board is too [censored]. He may do something stupid like flat call with QQ once and give it up if you fire again on the turn (as opposed to folding to your CR, which I don't see him doing).

Re: JJ early (300)
Never ever fold here.
I would lead this and call a shove. Raise and call a shove as played |
