Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)
SB: $323.70 BB: $203.00 UTG: $372.05 MP: $200.00 CO: $424.63 Hero (BTN): $428.95 Reads: This is a very common situation that seems to crop up over and over and i think it'd be beneficial to debate it a bit. I will post action on turn and river once we get something approaching a consensus. villain is a multitabling TAG running at 19/13/13 over 165 hands. He hasn't shown down many hands and has kept out of the way of the 2 LAGtards running over the table. he's positionally aware and likely a winner at the game, though it's too early to tell. Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG folds, MP raises to $7.00, CO folds, Hero calls $7.00, 2 folds Flop: ($17) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) MP bets $12.00, Hero? |

You could fold, but to keep it fun let's raise. It will take down the pot the majority of the time and keeps our hand disguised as well. Floating is for wusses.

this is what i was trying to get at. it seems to me that floating is in these circumstances the vastly superior play:
- we have more or less the same F.E against villain's range if we call flop and bet turn (what hands fold to a flop raise that call a turn bet?) - it allows us to see the turn card before committing any more chips. -if villain pushes over our flop raise, we're in pretty bad shape, and villain will frequently double barrel with hands that crush us, allowing us to get away easy on the turn |

yeah but if you float too often he's going to double barrel/check raise/snap you off some too. Adjust and readjust etc. Thats why I can't rlly say how often I raise call/fold I have no idea.

[/ QUOTE ] i don't think villain is ever C-R bluffing the turn here, which would make a float more appropriate, no? also, i don't think he double barrels all that often. |

Raising has more fold equity vs TPWK, second pair, and anything he may hit on the turn. It usually buys us 2 cards vs hands that call rather than one. It is very good for metagame.
