Re: Overcards and Tripped Board
I'd do the same with no reads. Against a very aggressive player, I'd check behind and call a river bet (but it's thin with only K-high and the fact that he called the flop bet).

Re: Overcards and Tripped Board
I bet the flop, take the free card on the turn, and then call down or raise if I hit, but that's just me!

Re: Overcards and Tripped Board
Given no reads, I can't see this guy raising with any less than A high. I don't like the turn bet, but as played I fold to the reraise.

Re: Overcards and Tripped Board
This is a fine way to play it if you don't have a read. If you really want to get to showdown you can consider checking behind the turn and calling a river bet (or maybe raising if you hit) is acceptable too, I think.

I think I would have played it the same way. Let's see. The only cards that make your hand are a K or a J. Your straight is no good because he probably just made his pair of kings. I doubt he's bluffing when he knows any pair is a HUGE hand here. So you have 6 outs with 1 card left to come. Taking into account that 20 cards are dealt pre-flop, That's, what, a 1:8 chance you'll hit a K or a J? You're getting 6:1 pot odds from his bet if you call it. Nope, you were right to fold. He's advertising a full house, the odds aren't good for you, and it's not a huge pot. I'd lay 'em down. |

Assuming your outs are clean, and getting 6:1, you can probably assume that you get sufficient implieds to make up for that if you hit. It's quite marginal, no doubt, but it has nothing to do with the cards dealt pre-flop. Edit: Of course, there's a non-zero chance that he's slowplaying 9x. That makes this even more marginal. |

good preflop raise and c-bet on the flop with villains reraise on the turn I put him on FD, SD or a T i would've checked behind on the turn to hit an out (J,K or Q) if none of your outs hits then fold on the river if villain bets |
