Default dumb flop spot - ftp 10/20

villain is the_dal_kid who i have at 30/16 over 300 hands, which makes him seem like a maniac compared to the other 15/10 regs. i actually think he seems kind of tough.
we've only played 2 sessions and i've been very tight if he's paying attention - i made what was obviously a big laydown a few minutes ago against someone else.

i have 2400 he has 2k.

he opens to 70 in CO, i rr to 240 w kk no club from SB.

flop A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (pot 497)

i ck he bets 375 i fold.

so whatever, who cares i guess, but i was thinking about it, and i'm pretty sure he's betting like 95% of his range here - does that seem off? i don't like leading and i hate ck/calling, but does anyone ck raise this? i think it's pretty sweet. doesn't he fold better? maybe even /call w worse? i mean, if he calls any turn pretty much blows, but i don't know.

i would absolutely play a big hand like this against him, but maybe that's only because i would get paid off since it looks weird.

What do u have his weighted range as?
Cuz i dont think he folds anything better except maybe weak aces here.
As for calling worse.QQc/JJc might call ur cr..thats pretty much it i think .
I think a lead here gets called by a lot worse. The only problem is your lead will be raised by a pair+big club type hand a decent amount.
I dont read pt stats so i dont really know what 30/16 means.

the reason you would play a big hand like this is the reason you should play a not so big hand in an entirely different way

i would c-bet this flop a lot because if you check you always look like you are giving up since you would so rarely (percievably) play a big hand slow on this board in a 3-bet pot.

My standard with air would be to bet and fold to more action- my experience is that people don't [censored] around with floating on wet boards/

in any tougher game, this is wrong as an absolute. it should depend entirely on what levels you think are at work.

obviously it's not an absolute, there just are few or none in poker in general- however, i don't think the dal kid is too good at all from my experience with him (albeit at 400-600 prob ~6 months ago). that is, i think a tricky line would fool him and be good to have him pay you off; basically i'm just reiterating that if you want to win this hand, you should bet the flop becuase a c-bet should get good respect on this board.

but obviously oyu know what level he's on in this game more than we do

given your pf rr, I think he fires after your flop check way less often than his normal c-bet frequency.....I think you played fine....but even if his range is as wide as you say, your equity sucks so badly and the pot size is such that a tough player can win this hand from you like, a lot, if he wants to....(but just figure out his tendencies in this type of situation and use it against him next time)....
