Two AJ hands from sunday warmup
Haven't posted a hand for a while, got into a discussion with some people on these hands and wondered what the masses thought. Most people i spoke to thought one was simple, and the other was divided.
Hand One About 200 people left (money bubble was 270) i have a sick good image, since everyone folds when i raise 78s and then i get to showdown with QQ+ AK etc. UTG has some idea what hes doing, and he def is shoving ~60% of his hands here, maybe even more. The coldcaller seems to have some understanding, but basically seems to play pretty boring TAGish poker and pays attention to his cards. PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t10000 with t500 antes (9 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com UTG (t59276) UTG+1 (t486748) MP1 (t88974) MP2 (t237242) MP3 (t170924) CO (t122194) TwistedEcho (t511415) SB (t239927) BB (t56503) Preflop: Hero is in Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG raises to t58776 (All-in), UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls t58776, MP3 folds, CO folds, TwistedEcho raises to t510915 (All-in) Hand Two PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t12000 with t600 antes (8 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com UTG (t298627) UTG+1 (t36403) MP1 (t608542) MP2 (t66874) CO (t796622) Button (t148824) SB (t180831) TwistedEcho (t822333) Preflop: Hero is in BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 raises to t66274 (All-in), CO folds, Button folds, SB raises to t180231 (All-in) MP2 is new to table, no reads, sb is playing around 20/18/2 accoring to PT and seems to be playing a standard game. Haven't seen him showdown anything yet. |

Basically i'll pretend the coldcaller doesn't exist and assume the times i run into a hand that has me crushed is made up for the times he folds and i play vs the allin with his dead money. Why is the second one a clear fold, he should be isolating here with a range wide enough for me to get my chips in? I would also have a sidepot. |

Re: Two AJ hands from sunday warmup
For hand 2, Cos i have lots of time, i ran some numbers.
The ranges i've been given by Twisted is a random hand for MP2, and {22+, A8+, KQ} for SB. For the main pot: Code:

equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 38.783% 35.51% 03.28% 57483132 5303870.83 { 22+, A8s+, KQs, A8o+, KQo } Hand 1: 34.859% 31.38% 03.48% 50799264 5635688.33 { AJo } Hand 2: 26.359% 25.66% 00.70% 41546841 1126291.83 { random }

For the side pot: Code:

equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 52.262% 47.39% 04.87% 231992763 23863053.00 { 22+, A8s+, KQs, A8o+, KQo } Hand 1: 47.738% 42.86% 04.87% 209848628 23863053.00 { AJo }

Taking into account blinds and antes, its 175k for Twisted to call the all in into a pot of 250k, creating: Main pot = 200k Side pot = 225k Total pot = 425k 34.86% of the time, we are +250k (+87.15k) 38.78% of the time, we are -175k (-67.87k) If MP2 wins main pot (will happen 26.36% of the time): 12.21% (52.3% of 26.36) of the time, we are +50k (+6.11k) 14.15% (47.7% of 26.36) of the time, we are -175k (-24.76k) giving an equity of +0.63k. So this call is effectively 0EV, considering reads and hand range assumptions. |
