Flop top pair and fold.
CAZ 20/40. Better game than the MM in the A8 post. Much looser, slightly more aggresive.
Villan is Chip Tapper. He always taps the top of his chips when he puts then in the pot......don't ask I don't know why either. He may be a lurker here not sure. He plays better than most and doesn't get out of line very often. Hero is running terrible and Villan knows this because he has been to my left for the last 2 hours. I have played with him many times before and I believe that he views me as TAG, maybe slightly loose in some spots. Hero opens A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in MP, Villan CC's, another CC, and BB calls. Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB checks, Hero bets, Villan raises, Fold, Fold, Hero Folds. Please tell me how you really feel.... |

Re: Flop top pair and fold.
Yeah, A62 is a terrible flop for your hand when you have AJ and you're against an opponent who showed no strength preflop.
I'm surprised you didn't just check-fold, but I guess you felt the need to spew with a pointless bet. Hahaha. No seriously. Don't fold the flop. Sure, you're in trouble if he has AQ or a set (he's 3-betting AK preflop right?), but why can't he have a flush draw or AT? Just 3-bet the flop. If he 4-bets, you can safely fold the turn. If he calls and raises the turn, you can fold there. If he calls the turn, you can check-call the river to see if he bluffs a busted heart draw. But I just can't see bet/folding this flop based on reading the hand -- maybe if I'm there in person I can pick up on something, but on the internetz this is a bad fold. |

Please tell me how you really feel.... [/ QUOTE ] For the love of god you need to rack up and go home. I am too disgusted to type a real response. I think you should come in here and do it. Give us your reasoning and analysis. Then we can really see wtf is going on in your brain and have a clue how it is we can help you. |

Hero is running terrible and Villan knows this [/ QUOTE ] Nothing in the world makes you do dumber things than running terrible. The fact that villain knows this makes your play even worse, because he could be taking a shot at you. |

Villain shouldn't really be calling with small pocket pairs though. |

Re: Flop top pair and fold.
Is that Stove a joke, Snowball? "Against sets and better aces, you're in bad shape." ORLY?
The only hand AJ is ahead of that you put into Stove was AT. But Villain's range HAS to be wider than that -- what about all the heart draws like KQhh, JThh, QJhh, 76hh, etc. not to mention medium pairs like 99/TT/JJ that Villain may want to isolate hero with. Remember, Villain raised out 2 players between himself and hero, which means he wants to be heads up here; a lot of people will just call with a set and raise the turn (we wouldn't; but you have to disregard that when reading opponents' hands). |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah I didn't mean to imply that my stove represented all of villain's range. I was just thinking about it, and I think we might have to add in some even weaker suited aces. I think JJ, TT, and 99 don't really belong in there though. If villain is gonna do that on the flop, then why in the hell wouldn't he just 3bet PF? Adding in the flush draw hands is ok, but there aren't that many of them. Let's give him KQhh, QJhh, and JThh. That's 3 combos, which doesn't make a huge difference, considering that he won't always play them like that, and we're not really significant favorites over any of them anyway. I still like your line of 3betting the flop, and then playing it from there. |
