ok, i'm in the big blind, and its not been raised.
i've got an ace, and a king. how many should i be drawing? |

In any non-pair, non-come, I usually draw to any A or K, throw away everything else. In this case, draw 3.
My reasoning is that if you have one or two limpers who miss their draws, AK high may be good whereas Ax high might not. And pairing either one of them could win you the pot. |

I think you should draw to the ace, the only time I take 3 is if I raised and plan on betting hit or miss.

Of course it depends on what you are playing. Ring game foldeing in the SB... raise bet out.....3 other player limping and your in BB...take 4

Not only does AKxxx likely win against two drawing hands, but you also want a showdown if you pair up. Taking 4 invites the button to bet into you with a smaller pair, and you don't want to put yourself in a scenario where you're having to make that kind of decision. |
