Default General \"Where to start\" question for MTTs

I'm somewhat sick of the cash grind so I am pretty much trying to figure out how to go about playing MTTs seriously. Just to give a general idea of my skill level, I am a pretty solid winner at .5/1NLHE 6max (~8PTBB/100). (other poker experience is moderate winning at SS LHE and crushing of PLO8100).

I am not totally inexperienced with MTTs. I have read all three Harrington on Hold'em books. I've won quite a few small buy-in tournaments ($5-$30). I've only played in a handful of tournaments over $100 (my biggest cash being 25th in the FTOPS #4 6max event, for $2500).

Because of neteller and general online poker uncertainty, I have restricted my bankroll to $10000.

My question then is, what should a player roughly of my skill level start playing at? Every time I play MTTs I get too conservative and avoid playing above $25 buy-ins, but I feel that I can do better.

(also, in the switch, I am trying not to fall below $50/hr which is my break-even point for "poker as life").

Thanks in advance for the help!

seems like with 10k roll, u should be playing...

$5-$20 rebuys.
$20-$100 freezeouts.

if your a decent mtt player you should have roughly a 100%roi, on average a tourney takes you lets say 2.5hours to complete.

so to maintain $50 per hour you need to play register for around $150-$200 worth of touneys per hour. (number is guess for the time that you are playing tourneys but not registering at towards the end of the session).

as your rolled for the $100fo's and $20r's but might not have the skill level for them (i dunno) you could just play the full tilt ones, but not the stars ones (which are tougher).

i'd probably take odd shots at the big nightlys too.

Stick to cash games. Regular income and chance to move up in limits? that's 841132!

My one month plan after not playing MTT's for almost a year.

Change my 2+2 bookmark from SSNL to MTTC
Re-read HOH 1 and 2 and 3
Watch all of the MTT HH listed in high stakes forum.
Re-read the anthology.
Sign up to PokerXfactor

Get back in the flow playing the $4 and $10/180s and the $5 and $10 large field MTT's.

Build up my T$ roll by playing the Sunday Million sats, Sunday 100k sats, and the WCOOP(though this may be thwarted by them only offer W$ instead of T$) sats.

Break my cherry by playing my first +$100 MTT by sat'ing into the end of month Sunday million.

Sounds good, and although the sunday 100k sats are insanely uber soft, the $/hour in them isn't great (although not as bad as it may seem, they're REALLY soft) and more importantly they don't do anything to help your game because the players are absolutely horrendous.
