Re: can someone explain NL5 NL100 NL10 to me?
NL 50 means 50 dollar max buyin, which is usually .25/.50 blinds
etc etc |

Re: can someone explain NL5 NL100 NL10 to me?
Yep, 100NL = $0.50 small blind, $1 big blind. Instead of saying $0.50/$1 NL (which takes forever to type out with decimal/periods and dollar signs, etc.) 100NL was coined (or NL100) because of the buyin recommended and buyin for 'serious' players at the level.
The lowest game is 2NL, $0.01/$0.02 NL. |

When someone says xNL, x is pretty much always 100x the big blind. x is also usually the max buy-in, but there are some exceptions to this. Absolute has 200BB max buy-in. PokerStars .01/.02 has a $5 max buy-in, and their .02/.05 is a $10 max buy-in. |

Re: can someone explain NL5 NL100 NL10 to me?
Yeah - a better definition of it is 100x the big blind. As said above, there are some special rules to this (deep tables, crazy $0.01/$0.02 on Stars for $5, NL5 max buyin really $10, etc. so it should be defined as 100BB

Thanks, ceegee, for posting this question and also to those who answered. I had wondered the same thing myself.
