Default Finance Forum\'s Stock Contest

Just trying to gauge people's interest here. There are many smart people here which I would like to see their investment strategy during a year and foster discussion.

Rules I would like to see to not turn this into a run and gun penny stock gambling fest:

1. No stocks under $1

2. Maximum 20%(?) invested in one stock.

3. Maximum of x trades per day

4. Shorting is allowed

Setup a virtual port on Marketocracy , join the 2+2 poker players club there (its on the 1st page of club listings), and have some fun... we are up to about 60+ participants.

I'd do it if there was some organized way of running it (i.e. Not just everyong reporting what they bought and when at the end of the year). A club at my school runs a similar contest through an organization called iChallenge. I'm not sure what the fees are or if there's a similar free service, but it's worth looking into.

Are options allowed?
How much are we playing for?

I thought Dan was planning to run another one?

If anyone wants to do it, I suggest marketocracy as the site!

I'd be into it. I'm trying to learn as much as I can right now.
