400nl - TPTK in 3-bet pot, deep, river play
6-handed, 275 BBs eff.
Villain is bad, running around 80/5/2 or so. PFR is unknown, running at 31/10/1.5 FWIW. Hero has brief history with villain, where villain snapped off two bluffs early in the session, hero later went runner runner 2pr to beat villain's flopped 2pr. Hero should be viewed as slightly LAG and very aggro. On to the hand: Hero's dealt Ad Kc UTG raises $12, folds to villain in SB who calls, Hero raises in BB to $60, UTG folds, SB calls Flop ($132): Ks 5s 3h SB checks, Hero bets $120, SB calls quickly Turn ($372): 4c SB checks, Hero bets $275, SB calls quickly River ($922): Qs SB thinks for ~3 seconds and checks, Hero has ~$700 left Is betting here too thin? If hero does bet, is a shove best or like 1/2-2/3 pot better? Would anyone ever b/f this river, and if so, what amount are you betting? Or should hero just be happy to show this down given the flush got there? |

Re: 400nl - TPTK in 3-bet pot, deep, river play
id probably lean towards checking because i think the two most likely hands for him to have here are kq or a fd.........but since your imgage is reallllly aggro i dont really mind betting either but if u do bet i dont think u can fold if he shoves...id probably just shove if i did bet and hope he thinks u were trying to rep a flush and bluffing, betting like half pot almost wreaks of value with a made hand

Re: 400nl - TPTK in 3-bet pot, deep, river play
I expect SB to turn up here with a worse king a lot, but I'd guess he'd check KQ here as well. B/f river is horrible given you've got less than the pot left, it's shove all-in or check behind. Given how often I'd expect to see KQ here, I think I'd check behind.

Re: 400nl - TPTK in 3-bet pot, deep, river play
if i did check this river it would be due to some gut interpretation of the timing detail mentioned which i find is often significant with these types (it typically suggests that he has improved but may be still concerned about your hand), however against a 80/5 i feel that shoving has to be correct in general since there are just so many atrocious hands in his range. sure, QK is there, but so are K6-KJ. we just can't worry about one specific hand when there is this much value to be obtained from the vast majority of his holdings.

Re: 400nl - TPTK in 3-bet pot, deep, river play
Easy check behind for me.
The flush has completed on the river sand KQ just beat you aswell. Your hoping for KJ to call you down basically and its already a 2 buyin pot. I think its bad to lose 275BB's with 1 pair on this board. |
