OT: winrate drop between 400nl and 200nl
I often hear people say the difference between 200nl and 400nl is the biggest among various levels. Is that really true? I plan to move to 400nl next month after running very hot in 200nl this month and build my roll to around 20k. I am just wondering what kind of winrate drop people typically experience when moving up to 400nl?
I plan to drop back down to 200nl if I lose 15 to 20 buyins at 400nl, sounds like a plan? |

I don't know why you would take a 15 buyin shot. Move down if you loose 4-5 bi or something. Personally I like to float between levels when I'm moving up and play whatever I feel like.

Just table select between 200 and 400 NL and pick the best tables. Not doing this is throwing away money.

[/ QUOTE ] maybe this is just me, I have trouble playing multiple levels at the same time, I often get confused about bet sizes and I haven't done well the few times that I have tried. Nobody else has this problem? |

[/ QUOTE ] this is not just taking a shot, I don't plan to go back down unless I am not sure if I am a winner at 2/4. That's why I think 15-20 buyin is a more reasonable number. |

Re: OT: winrate drop between 400nl and 200nl
Some have commented that 3/6 = 5/10 and just for the sake of argument let's assume that is true and we can forget about 3/6 (especially since there are relatively fewer tables at 3/6).
So the question is, is it a bigger jump from 1/2 to 2/4, or from 2/4 to 5/10? My sense is that 2/4 to 5/10 is a bigger transition, mainly because you won't win much money at 5/10 if you can't pick the right spots to bluff and right ways to bluff, and this is probably the most difficult NL skill to master. At 1/2 and 2/4 a lot more of your money comes from getting called by worse hands when you've played your hand face-up. |
