Robbed at Gunpoint
My roommate and I were sitting at the bus stop heading to class when this guy stands right in front of us with a small pistol pointed at us and tells us to get in a car parked right behind us.
Since we were sitting down and the guy had a gun right on us we decided to get in the car. They made us empty out our pockets taking our cell phones, wallets, credit cards, and car/house keys. His fat ass girlfriend or whatever she was drove us around to several different ATMs as they emptied money out of our checking/savings accounts, etc. After they took enough money to satisfy them, probably like $500 they dropped us off in the middle of the ghetto. We hitched a bus ride back into town, went to a Wells Fargo, cancelled are credit cards immediately, and called the police. The police escorted us back to our house (the robbers had our house keys and address), and we got our cars and valuables out before they could come back. How would you guys have handled the situation? In hindsight I think I would have tried to do everything possible to not get into the car since the officer later informed me that 90% of the time people who get into cars don't come back. I hope they catch these assholes. It's scary to think what might have happened if it had been women or little kids instead of 19 year old males. |

Re: Robbed at Gunpoint
It's pretty scary to get in a car with someone like this, but I assume you guys didn't get any "crazy" vibes from the robbers.
All in all I think you did OK. It's just material stuff, and hopefully you guys got a good description of these clowns, their vehicle and so forth. Glad you're safe. Swede |

Re: Robbed at Gunpoint
If they went to take out money at the ATM they should have his face on the camera, so they should eventually catch him.
I would of tried of not getting in the car, because I wouldnt want to get ass raped by some thief. |

[/ QUOTE ] That should help, if the crooks used the ATM themselves, as opposted to making the victim use the ATM. Also, the fact that they made the victims get in the car makes it kidnapping, not just armed robbery. You can get life for that in most states. Also, I think the cops will put more effort into investigating a kidnapping than a straight armed robbery. Also, if they try to use the stolen credit cards they will may get caught. doesn't sound like the crooks here were rocket scientists. |

Re: Robbed at Gunpoint
WTF are you gonna do, shoot him first? If he wasn't planning on shooting you, just robbing you, and you pull a weapon, you're toast.
