Random mining question
I always read that you want to mark the don't save observed HH to file when mining FT, etc
Does everyone do this? Cuz I just realized u can't view how a certain player plays given hands..i.e. like a fish who always loses buckets of money cuz he can't fold overpairs etc. If you sdave the HH's to file will PT allow u to go in and actually look at given hands that the fish lost all their money on? Despite this is it still not smart to save observed hh's to the harddrive? |

Re: Random mining question
If you want to datamine a lot then you don't want the whole hand histories as it will take up a huge amount of room. Depenind on the limits you are playing how often are you giong to be checking out the fish in your database and actually getting to play against them?

Re: Random mining question
I've always saved them for a few reasons. You never know when you might want to transfer HHs, or break up a database, etc. I don't really look at how random opponents play, but that could be another use. I think that advice is really suggested more for people who have a space issue. But with hard drive space being as cheap as it is currently, I don't think it's an issue to everyone.

Re: Random mining question
i dont think saving the HH's has to do with being able to replay their hands

i dont think saving the HH's has to do with being able to replay their hands [/ QUOTE ] It definitely does. I'm surprised that you can't transfer the stats w/o HH from one database to another. If there's a solution, I'd love to hear it. |

Re: Random mining question
yeah I only brought this up because I had a major loser listed in my PT who's HH i had apparently kept...and I was able to see exactly how he over played certain hands...really really useful when sitting with him...made it like he was almost playing with his cards face up
