Simulate 1/2 live??
So im looking for the best way to simulate 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL live play at online limits. I have been told that full ring $25NL is compareable to these limits. I am mostly a 6 max online player, and I am having a lot of trouble switching to the full ring - everyone to the flop - no matter how much - live arena.
any threads/links to discussion on this would be much appreciated. |

[/ QUOTE ] I play a fair amount of live 1-2 and 2-5 full and 25nl is proly as close as you'll find. IMO it will never be the same because players can bounce in and out of games so easy among other things. I played a 2-5nl 500max game yesterday that you'll never duplicate on line. 1/2 the table is 1k-2k deep and we're all seeing a lot of flops. With a $10 straddle 6 players limp and the BB makes it $50. six players take the flop for $50. I love live poker. GS |

Why is 25 NL online comparable to 1/2 NL live?

Why is 25 NL online comparable to 1/2 NL live? [/ QUOTE ] 1/2 (or 2/5) is usually the smallest game live and NL25 is the smallest or one of the smallest on-line. More live players are looking to gamble or don't have a clue about bankroll management so they play higher limits than a similar player would on-line (that and the fact that that's the lowest option). Also, since most feel the live games are softer they can play w/ less bank-roll and a bigger edge. |

At least in LA, I would say NL10 is more like live 1/2 NL, that $40 max buyin creates some crazy play.

That being said, I think the main driver is that people who just want to have fun will play the lowest limit available. |

[/ QUOTE ] Best way to try live NL low limit is to buy in for the table minimum buy in and play. There are so many calling stations live that a decent player should be able to do well without much risk. Just remember how much dumber live players are compared to the tighties online.
