Re: Flop Donk
my real question is:
do we see a fold often enough for this to be a profitable bet? |

Re: Flop Donk
I'm very interested in this.
I think this is very close to a PF fold against what looks like a legitimate non-steal open-raise and no other callers. But of course, if the call is wrong, it couldn't be too far wrong. I sometimes donk flops like these with hands like these HU. Successfully take them down too a decent amount of time. But when I usually do them it is against a later position open-raiser where they are less likely to have a hand to call or raise me with. Without knowing more about the opponent, I don't think this semi-bluff would get a fold often enough to make the bet profitable. |

Re: Flop Donk
Sure, but you'll have to follow through on the turn.

Re: Flop Donk
Personally I'd just checkraise. If you donk here though you'd better be donking pairs too.

Re: Flop Donk
I'd probably fold preflop, but if I was going to call, I like a c/r rather than a donk.

Personally I'd just checkraise. If you donk here though you'd better be donking pairs too. [/ QUOTE ] i've REALLY started donking into a PFR a wide range of hands on flops like these. pairs, sets, flushdraws. the flop c/r, IMO is so used/overused i'm replacing it as a default strategy. i'm becoming more of a donker. c/r is still in my mix, but i've started donking more on the flop in HU and shorthanded situations and c/r less. another benefit, is since i do give up on the turn some decent portion of the time(goofball stated i needed to be ready to fire the turn as well, which i must do some of the time) it sets up a turn c/r very nicely when i am donking a good made hand or get there on the turn. |

Re: Flop Donk
Yesterday I was playing some low limit 6 max online and started making these plays here and there with some similiar hands and I was surprised at how often I would get a fold but it was online low limit, player dependant as well as board dependant. I think it is good to do here & there in your game since you are in a blind here and you could be repping several different hands. You might also get a freebie on the turn for your draw.
