Default 2+2 Ron Paul Fundraisers?

Would there be any demand for a 2+2 Ron Paul fundraiser? Like a $10+1 tourney where the $1 goes to Ron Paul's presidential campaign. Is this even possible?

U doubt it would fly with the owners.

Besides, that's lame. How about a $100+$10 with the $110 all going to the Paul campaign.

3 Issues:

1. You couldn't call it a 2+2 tournament. The admins are touchy about copyrights.

2. You would have to set up a payment system to demonstrate that there is minimal risk of a scam. It probably wouldn't fly for you to act as an intermediary to send money to Paul. Besides, that violates campaign finance laws.

3. If you choose to advertise the tourney outside this forum, other mods are likely to be annoyed.

He doesn't need more money. He needs people to spread the word.

This is not correct. He needs both. In American politics, money spreads the word.

You need money, lots and lots and lots of money, if you're a crazy psycho like standard politicians; ..when you have no ideas except some empty promises and baked air.

The idea of liberty doesn't need that.

I am more cynical than this. Money never hurts.

Whether we like it or not, Paul really needs to be recognized as legit by television media. Paul isn't considered a first tier candidate by the press because he doesn't have as much money as others. I think his philosophy has less to do with it than some think. If he had as much cash on hand as Hillary he would get discussed more in the press.

I hesitate to nominate him without talking to him about it first, but if Borodog was designated as the middle man (he gets transfered all the money and is responsible for seeing that it goes to RP like it's supposed to) I would be down for participating in a tournament with a buy-in up to $1000 in support of Ron Paul.

(I'm not a baller by any means, this would be pretty reckless of me from a bankroll management standpoint, but some things are worth a little inappropriately large variance)

Give me the money instead. It'll be better employed by myself. I'll use it to support the free market!
