Movies with the best Monologue
Link for Dialogue thread
We've done the dialogue thread, now let's discuss movies with (a) great monologue. I'll begin with R. Lee Ermey in the introductory scene as the Drill Sargeant in Full Metal Jacket. Another good one: Edward Norton's rant in 25th hour. |

Re: Movies with the best Monologue
[ QUOTE ]
Macbeth in Macbeth [/ QUOTE ] Shakespeare should probably be excluded, but: Macbeth, as performed by Gandalf! Henry V Kenneth Branagh is a little crazy in this clip, but he's good. Hamlet- Branagh again |

Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator.
This is my favorite, you can read it in the memorable quotes IMDB. It is the first quote. |

Re: Movies with the best Monologue
There is a reason that when you type simply "Baldwin" in youtube's search field the very first link is this (Alec Baldwin's 'motivational' speech in Glengarry Glenn Ross). I personally think that Walken's watch monologue is the best ever, but it's referred and recited so often that I've grown away from it a bit.

Re: Movies with the best Monologue
This never gets old for me:
Alec Baldwin in Malice: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QcvjoWOwnn4 My cousin, who's a pharmacist, does a pretty funny riff on this speech- "When someone walks into a Walgreens with a bad cough, or weird rash... who do you think they're praying to?" (Guess you have to be there) |
