3-bet bottom set on the river?
Bay101 20-40:
Villain is a 20-something white girl. Pretty good player, and is generally tight-passive preflop but very aggro postflop. She has an internet poker style to her IMO. Folded to villain who open-raises in cutoff. She's stealing, but not with total garbage here. Folded to me in BB and I look down at 44. I debate between raising and calling and decide to just call planning to check-raise most flops. Flop is J-4-2 rainbow. I pause for a sec, check, she bets, I raise, she aggressively 3-bets. I put her on most likely 2 overcards, maybe one overcard, maybe a smaller pocket pair. AA/KK/QQ or a J is pretty unlikely. Doesn't really matter though, she is drawing pretty slim. I call. Turn is offsuit K. I c/r, she gives a surpised, "wow, I didn't realize you have that big of a hand" expression and calls. River is A. I bet, she raises. I think for a long time (like 10-12 seconds). She's pretty aggro, might raise with AK/AJ here putting me on like KJ, K4, etc. I don't think she has KK/JJ, she could have AA/AK/AJ or some random QT she went crazy with. 3-town? Just call? Against most players, I would probably just call, but she is pretty aggro. |

What are her thoughts about you?
Who are you and who is this girl? Has the B101 game changed this summer? |

Re: 3-bet bottom set on the river?
She probably thinks I'm a pretty solid player. I can fold, I can also maximize my big hands in unconventional ways. I don't showdown too much, but when I do they're winners.
Who am I? I'm the Captain! Not sure what you mean by who's this girl, description in OP. I think Bay101 has changed a little bit recently. Some new players have joined in, some people making new moves I haven't seen from them before. |

Sorry, my reads aren't THAT good! I don't have the Phil Hellmuth "see inside your pants, er soul" skillz.

3 town. I can't come up with a reason not to.

Re: 3-bet bottom set on the river?
Villain's range should be something like AA/KK/AK/AJ at this point with A4 and 22 as outliers. I call because I can't fold to a 4-bet and I don't think we have 2/3 equity here.
I'm pretty sure villain is taking a free card with QT here. |

Re: 3-bet bottom set on the river?
I would three bet. You say she plays aggressively post flop so that widens here range here a little bit. She probably won't four bet you since she almost certainly doesn't have QT based on the flop action and probably doesn't have KK or JJ since she would probably reraise the turn. She may not put you on that great of a hand since this is a blind defense situation.
More often than not you are looking at AK or AJ here. |
