Default All-Madden mode, any tips?

Playing Madden 06 (I plan on buying every other Madden) on All Madden, I'm not doing so hot. 0-3 so far, losing 20-17 16-10 and 24-20.

On All Pro I went 19-0, avg score 38-5, broke the sack record, Int record, had the MVP, OMVP,DMVP (and 3 of the #2-5).

Any tips?

Learn to read coverages. Certain routes work better against certain coverages. Practice these and audible and hotroute like mad.

how do you read coverages? My passing game is terrible, I throw about 2 ints a game and average 150 yards passing. I mainly win on running, defense, and defensive INTs.

The easiest way is to watch for a little twitch from the corners when they line up to cover your WRs. If they twitch, they're playing man, if they get in position smoothly, they're in a zone.

Against man: hooks, quick slants, RB flares (if you're matched up with a LB) are good.

I'm not too good against zone, but I've found that streaks are good if you have a speed advantage v the safety, drag routes, and routes where you get your TE or WR to sit down in one of the holes seem to work well.

Also, look for blitzes and try to exploit them with short passes that have potential for YAC.

All madden is super dumb, unfair. Play online on all-pro, that takes skill.

I would generally agree that in sports games, playing online>playing against the computer at the highest level, since those high levels are 99% computer BS to compensate for lack of AI.

learn to throw the high pass on post patterns. learn to user-catch. On defense learn to use a safety and cover half the field by yourself, so you can blitz and get pressure on the QB

Hi guys, new to the forum but have lurked for a long time. If there's one thing i can help anyone with it's madden advice. I played madden at a high level (traveled to tournaments and such), and have played with the best players in the world from madden 2004-2006.....Anyways, for madden 2006 scoring is very easy, especially vs the computer. The key to madden 2006 is using very tall receivers that have a good jump rating. The new york giants would be a good example of a team to use. Curl routes are completely broken...just hotroute your big receivers to do curl routes (smart route them also if u need a first down..) and wait for them to turn around and press UP on the d-pad when you throw it and your WR will jump over the defenders and catch it...even in triple coverage a lot of the times. Slants and posts also work well...u can basically throw anything vs a non-expert player as long as you are throwing to a big receiver and remember to press up when you throw. On defense, again unless you're playing vs a good/expert player u can get away with running man lock bump and run every play and just taking the safety and watching their best WR. Hope that helps....if anyone else has madden questions feel free to PM.

You can throw streaks vs single coverage all day if you WR is tall and you have good stick skillz ( meaning you click on and catch the ball yourself)
