Rivered flush, stack-a-donk raise or shove?
Do not remember much about villain. I have been running 15/12 at this table, so I decided to pop it pf w/ 65s in the CO.
Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter BB: $121.50 UTG: $61.50 Hero (CO): $142.75 BTN: $206 SB: $100 Pre-Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) 2 folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $4</font>, BTN folds, SB calls $3 Flop: ($8) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $6</font>, SB calls $6 Turn: ($20) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero checks River: ($20) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) <font color="red">SB bets $14</font>, Hero makes it $42ish or shoves? |

Re: Rivered flush, stack-a-donk raise or shove?
I would make it $50
I think you probably get paid an extra $36 but i think people can fold a 10 to an all in here. |

Ya I wouldn't push here, I like to put a raise in and make it about $50 also.

Re: Rivered flush, stack-a-donk raise or shove?
~$50 sounds about right to me. On a side-note how on this hand would we figure exactly what ratio of times he calls a shove vs. calls $50 bet to get to the break-even point between the two. I don't know if I worded that right b/c it sounds confusing even as I read it. Nonetheless, if someone can handle that do so, it's something I've been meaning to find out for awhile concerning whether to push or just bet/raise for value on river bets.

Re: Rivered flush, stack-a-donk raise or shove?
If we shove villain needs to call an additional $76. If we raise to $50 he would need to call an extra $36.
Basically the river calculation would the amount he has to call multiplied by the % of the time he will call each bet. He would have to call a $50 raise about 2 times more often than a shove for the EV of raising to = shoving. Example... EV of raise to $50 = $36 * .5 = $18 EV of shove = $76 * .25 = $19 I hope this clears it up for ya... |
