Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
I would bet the flop. You might be able to take it down right there, but if you get called you still have a very strong hand (12 outs to the nuts, possibly 3 more outs for your Ace).
Turn call is ok, I think I'm 50-50 on calling or raising here. If you think he's slowplaying a set or something, raise for sure, otherwise wait till the river to raise for maximum value. NH |

Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
Was the 175 too much like a value bet? I mean thinking back, if he did have a set I should have bet half the pot instead of 175?

Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
I dont think you could have extracted any more money unless you threw a smaller bet on the river but it feels like the guy was trying to take the pot on the turn and had nothing

Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
i would have bet the flop and raised the turn. With a big hand i want to play a big pot. It all starts with a flop bet.....as raze says if you bet the flop you can win unimproved...he probably folds underpairs and thats good for you since you dont always make ur flush.
i think it is results oriented to say you couldnt ahve extracted any more money here. with a PFR and KQx flop you'd expect him to have some sort of made hand. |

Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
def bet this flop and don't be shy about getting it in. you have 12 outs to the nuts and your outs to the A are often going to be good.
as played generally raise the turn. we don't want to risk another diamond falling and he's probably not putting in anymore money w/o a flush. |

Re: How Do I Maximize This Hand?
I bet about 3/4 pot on the flop to try to take it down in position. If you miss or an ugly card like K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hits the turn you don't have to worry about putting in any more so the flop is a good spot to bet.
Then I probably 1/2 pot it on the turn and river depending on reads, if you can get more, then maybe 3/4 on the turn and 1/2 on the river. As played I raise to ~500 on the turn and 1/2 pot the river. |
