Help Me Build An Album Collection Part B
So here's the deal. I've been feeling lately as though my album collection is greatly lacking, and I would like to fix this by expanding with the help of OOT recommendations. The way I plan on doing this may seem odd, but its my plan so what the heck. What I want to do is expand by 1 letter of the alphabet at a time. What this means is first I'll do all albums I want to get by bands beginning with the letter A, then B, then C, etc.
I haven't gotten around to all the suggestions from Part A yet, but I wanted to keep this moving. So today its time to take suggestions on Albums by Artists/Bands beginning with the letter B. Part A To start things out, here's a list of albums I currently have by artists/bands beginning with the letter B. Band of Horses - Everything All the Time (2006) Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (1966) Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill (1995) Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty (1998) Beastie Boys - To the 5 Boroughs (2004) Beck - Mellow Gold (1994) Beck - Odelay (1996) Beck - Mutations (1998) Beck - Midnite Vultures (1999) Beck - Sea Change (2002) Beck - Guero (2005) Beck - The Information (2006) The Beta Band - The Three EPs (1999) Blink 182 - Dude Ranch (1997) Blink 182 - Enema of the State (1999) Bloc Party - Silent Alarm (2005) Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited (1965) Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde (1966) Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks (1975) Boston - Boston (1976) Bran Van 3000 - Glee (1998) Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On (1997) Built to Spill - Keep it Like a Secret (1999) Built to Spill - You in Reverse (2006) Bush - Sixteen Stone (1994) Bush - Razorblade Suitcase (1996) Bush - Golden State (2001) I also have the Beatles 1 album, but no individual Beatles album. So recommend away! |

sam,
yeah, music from big pink. also 'the last waltz'. that one is crucial. of the dylan albums you are missing i'd say bringing it all back home, nashville skyline, the times they are a changin, and freewheelin are the most glaring bad brains - i against i there's more, i don't have my music collection here at work though |

I do like Nashville Skyline quite a bit, though. |

Bob Marley & The Wailers: Legend [/ QUOTE ] While Legend is his famous greatest hits collection, Gold is a much better collection. It's 34 songs instead of 14 from Legend and it's chronological, so you can hear how he developed. And even though Gold is two discs, it's sold for the price of 1 disc. The problem with Legend is that it's too short. Only 14 (or 16, depending on which version you find) songs. And the 2-disc Legend set is a rip-off for new fans because disc 2 is merely remixes of songs found on disc 1 (though the remixes are hard to find, so the set may be good for completists.) |

Belle and Sebastian - Tigermilk; Sinister; Lazy Lady; Pursuit; Arab.
I feel recommending a specific Beatles album would be redundant. |

[/ QUOTE ] worth noting, i've listened to Belle and Sebastian, I dont like it. I got a lot of guff from OOTers for going to a concert in Milwaukee that was The New Pornographers and Belle & Sebastian, and walking out after The New Pornographers were done playing because I didn't feel like sitting through Belle & Sebastian. |
