5/10: finding a way to SD
5/10 6 players
UTG, a very laggy atrocious player, limps. Folded to me on the BT with KTs. I raise. Blinds scram. UTG calls. Flop 449r none of my suit So what's the plan from here? Some lines I considered: -check flop to induce a bluff and call down -bet to induce a bluff and protect my hand. Call down a raise on the flop. Probably check a lot of turns to induce a river bluff. |

Re: 5/10: finding a way to SD
i don't usually plan on showing down weak king-highs unless i know that villain won't try to "bluff" me with ace-high.

Re: 5/10: finding a way to SD
villain is unlikely to limp and ace preflop. you are most likely ahead here.
how and if you get to sd here is dependent on how villain plays postflop; how many barrels does he fire etc. if you're going to showdown here I like betting the flop and checking to induce a bluff on the turn and river. |

Re: 5/10: finding a way to SD
I would hate to ck flop, and induce turn and river "bluffs" from A hi. Is he the type of LAG to limp a weak ace?

[/ QUOTE ] yah you're right. oops. in this case it is much much easier imo. bet flop, check turn, call river would be the best play to guarantee an inexpensive showdown. vs some villains I will bet turn check behind river. |

> 5/10 6 players
> > UTG, a very laggy atrocious player, limps. By definition, a LAG shouldn't be limping here. I take it he is more loose than aggressive. As an aside, open-limping in a shorthanded LHE game is a tell-tale sign that the player is either bad and/or inexperienced. > Folded to me on the BT with KTs. I raise. > Flop 449r none of my suit > > So what's the plan from here? You have position. Bet the flop if he checks it to you. Hopefully, he'll just call and check the turn, in which case you can bet if the turn card helps you, or check behind if it doesn't (take a free card, hope the river helps you, and if not, perhaps induce a bluff from your opponent on 5th street...not that you should absolutely call a river bet in this spot). If you encounter resistance, fold (this assumes you haven't been helped along the way). Really, though, KT isn't the kind of hand I feel compelled to show down, even against loose idiots. I am looking for help with this hand, and if I don't get it, I probably don't get to showdown unless my opponent fails to play back at me in some manner (i.e., either by betting into me, or raising me). thiamide |

Re: 5/10: finding a way to SD
unless villain routinely C/R's flop with close to ATC into a PFR, not sure how anything other than Bet-Check-Call can be the correct line assuming you have decided to SD.

Re: 5/10: finding a way to SD
are you still going to showdown if any particular cards come? (Q or J I guess...)
