Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
I would call here and feel really stupid about it afterward. Good fold.

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
This is really automatic. What are you considering doing differently?
I guess there's some non-zero chance you could win with jack high, but it's not going to happen nearly often enough. Folding on the previous draw closing the action seems ridiculous too. |

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
Is it an auto-reraise from the bb with 2456 predraw ?
I would have just called and been happy to draw one to it cheaply. Tx. |

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
Calling with a one card draw turns your hand over.

[ QUOTE ]
Calling with a one card draw turns your hand over. [/ QUOTE ] I think its much much worse to call and draw 1 at 8763 than 2456.. Think of all the extra action you get off someone who makes a good 8 when you catch a 7. |

Calling with a one card draw turns your hand over. [/ QUOTE ] I mix my play in this situation, some times I cap, sometimes I call. There is meta value in both decisions, I haven't determined which option provides the greatest return of investment yet. |

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
Don't see anything else you could do differently, really. Overcalling on the river would be a big error.

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot
yeah, calling doesn't turn your hand over at all. In fact I'd put ya on 87 often enough that you'll get alot of value from me when you catch a 7. Re-raising assures you'll get little value from me if you do catch the 7 or 8, but will allow ya to outplay me with a 9 if you catch it and it's headsup. I love playing straight draws like this slower for deception value, even down to 2345.
