200NL - Fold a boat?
No real reads on this villian, other than he hasn't done anything that makes him seem like a terrible donk yet. I've only been at this table with him for maybe two orbits. Usually I'm raising his limp here preflop but I was in a 250bb pot on another table and not paying a terrible amount of attention.
His line certainly looks very, very strong, but... it's 200NL, and I have a boat! Hard to see much you're ahead of besides some extremely stupidly played big pocket. Even 9T got there.

Re: 200NL - Fold a boat?
im not getting away from this
also, the only hand that he can have here that makes him NOT a bad player (maybe) is T9, bc raising with TT 99 44 are superstandard here |

Re: 200NL - Fold a boat?
10-9 is really all I'm worried about here. If he has 9/4--and he well could have since he was in the SB--he played like a fool and that's poker, as they say. Don't know why anyone would limp with 44 short-handed unless they plain don't know what they're doing. Of course at these stakes, again, that's entirely possible. It's negative equity in the long run if you worry too much though.
Not sure I raise with under-full here when board pairs on the end. Given there were no obvious monster draws, he had to have hit that flop and/or turn pretty hard to make those plays .. well unless he's bluffing. 4-handed I don't see how you get away from this. You might get away in a full ring game if it had been a limped multi-way pot depending on table image of opponent. So what happened? |

Re: 200NL - Fold a boat?
Your raise isn't a bad play, many players would make it, especially short handed. I'm just kind of cautious when someone is re-popping a limped pot with a rainbow-rag board that pairs on the end. What hand would they bet that way? At these stakes it's usually at least 2 pair on the turn.
10-9 wasn't played optimally here, but it wasn't played that much out of the ordinary either. |

Re: 200NL - Fold a boat?
Nobody said it, but I bet preflop ESPECIALLY 4-handed. Then c-bet that flop, he'll checkraise me, and I'll probably fold without reads, won't see the turn, and save myself mucho deniro.

to the reading comprehension-challenged, he explained preflop (and it doesn't matter a ton anyway)
