Basic Preflop Question:
Assume Party 100NL, Villain has 95bb you cover. 2nd orbit at the table, villain is unknown, this is the first pot he has entered since you sat down. You have KK in the CO and open for 4bb, villain on the button 3-bets to 12bb, you? So I made this poll because I love going ARRIN!!!
I don't think I'm re-re-raising often enough in this , I usually just p000sh!!!! I am absolutely amazed at how many are suggesting just call, IMO that is a big leak. So how what other hands are y'all 4-betting with here vs. an unknown? |

How often do you think he has AK? If often, then I see merit in reraising preflop. But if he has a weaker pair, then I like only calling and trapping him if he hits an overpair for tons of money later heads-up when he has no outs.

Looking at it the other way, why not get the money in before scare cards come and let him get away from his big pair?

Hmm...this is a good point. I guess I should only call against tight, solid opponents. The average weak player will you pay off your big raise.

If there was the potential for other callers I think you would see more votes for an additional bet. At this level what hand calls a real 4-bet (which commits their stack when hero leads with a pot-sized flop bet) that doesn't call a pre-flop push? |
