BB with Ax vs button (and a return)
hi all-
i posted a some last year and read the forums a ton. decided to start participating more due to my game suffering from lack of work but forgot my account info. since this is sort of a fresh start, i suppose a new account is better anyways, my question. assume a middle limit online game, the button has average aggression. well probably tries to steal too much, but not a maniac. you play better than him post flop. what does X need to be in the Ax combo for you to 3-bet? lets break it down further: SB calls SB folds i know there are metagame issues to be considered, so bring those into discussion if you like. thanks |

Re: BB with Ax vs button (and a return)
For me, this is an instance where meta-game condierations are more important than value. That said, I think this is an easy 3bet with a hand like AJ or A9s. With the lesser aces, though, I think the most important considerations are my image, what I've done with similar hands against this player in this spot, and the likelyhood that the button will get scared by the 3bet and fold on the flop if he misses.
Just my opinion... |

Just wanted to add that my response assumed SB folded.
