I think a call is in order here, especially seeing as how you played the hand on the flop. I do think a flop bet may have been more effective in this instance in defining your hand though.I definitely do not think you should raise this river.

i bet this flop often. i checked in this instance because of my vague read...didn't want to play a huge pot here.

as played you have to call, you could easily be inducing a bluff here

also, why are you 3bet pre here with pos?

the 3-bet pre is def not standard. but i will 3-bet a wide range from the button at times against certain types of players.

i suggest you reevaluate your 3betting pre strat... sure it puts you in pos in a bloated pot, but you should be able to call here pre with a wide variety of hands and make villain's life hell postflop. The 3bet pre minimizes your maneuvering ability postflop and lessens the extent that you can use your pos as a weapon

Call that river, don't raise, KQ does not call.
Bet flop, wtf.

flop check is fine.

there's no other play but to call here. Not only have you induced a bluff; you've also induced a possible value bet from KQ. A raise is gross a fold is just ridiculous, so call.

I'm surprised that some are so against a 3-bet pre-flop here. like i said, it's definitely not standard and not something I do every time, but I like 3-betting a wide range from the button against CO open raise. (i wouldn't 3-bet this hand against an UTG or UTG+1 raiser). for one, there is immediate EV in taking down the pot right after the 3-bet as a COs range there is fairly wide, and most players who somewhat know what they're doing won't want to call 3-bets lightly out of position. and if they want to call 3-bets against me, i really don't mind since i'll have position throughout the hand.

fwiw, i would flat call with this hand pre-flop also a good portion of the time.

any hand i would flat call on the button against a CO raise, is also a hand I am willing to 3-bet.

as for the flop check...like i said, not something i'm doing 100% of the time. and yes, betting the flop probably makes the hand easier to play, but is it the play that will maximize my expectation. maybe, maybe not? but i'm not betting this flop 100% of the time. fwiw, any hand in my range i wouldn't bet the flop with every time, i'd check air here, as well as top set and flush draws.
