Canadian poker - LMAO
OK - Canadians are absolutely the worst players I have ever played against. I live in Seattle and went to visit my old home game buddy who moved close to the border. He told me about the casino's in Canada and I just didn't believe how bad he was saying it was. We went to Cascades Casino in Langley, Canada and it was VERY bad. We sat down in a 1/2 NL game and each bought in for 200. These guys were making a standard raise of $15-20 and usually it was $20. I played very tight becuz they were so loose and reckless (they noticed this and even commented on my play) yet when I came in for a raise - 4-5 callers every time. I made $430 in about 5 hrs of play. Idiots calling all their chips with idiot end of the str8, top pair 6 kicker, calling raises with garbage, middle pair, bottom pair, calling on the river with busted draws??? I had a guy call me with K high on the river - i guess he put me on Q high. Stacked a guy who called on the river with four to the flush - I had the ace - He had an 8!! All his chips for an 8 high flush...
Played the $60 tourney the next day and it was worse. Hats, sunglasses, and ipods were the norm not the exception. Took fourth after a bad beat for $150. If you live in the NW please make a trip up north to either Cascades or River Rock - both very soft and too easy to beat. And yes - they are worse than the Vegas 1/2 games which I have played at almost all the casinos on various trips. Side note - Canadians are very cordial and extremely nice - just horrible at poker - I see why Booth went bust. |

IN Vegas I experienced at least a couple peeps at the table who knew what was going on and the rest were horrible. In canada they were just all horrible. And it would be ironic if they all drove up from seattle - BUT everyone had conadian accents so....

Re: Canadian poker - LMAO
K high is pretty good compared to some hands I've seen showdown in Florida.
I had a guy call a three bet preflop, then raise my cbet on the flop. I 3bet shoved and he called the rest with six high, no draw. He turned a gutshot draw which missed. He might have had six live outs if I had two unpaired overs, I guess... Anyway, I've only met one live 1/2 player I thought was any good at all. |

It would be very ironic if most of the players you were playing against drove up from Seattle...

Re: Canadian poker - LMAO
Seattle players ARE absolutely horrible - they just don't spread any decent NL games so i have to head to Canada. Believe me - i would rather stay home and play - Effing 6.25 for a beer at the effing casino in Canada.
Typical washington state NL game 3/5 $300 max buy in, or 2/4 $200 buy in. I don't even think there is a 1/2 nl game in the state - its retarted. |

The highest spread that is allowed in Washington is 2-40 limit (not sure about the 2 part, but 40 is the max). And yes there are a lot of bad players in the Seattle area, but I'm pretty sure that is true almost anywhere. |
