Examples of Good vs. Bad Advertising (Usage of Models/Actors)
I've come across some good and bad advertising recently and would like to include examples of each - this is specifically referring to the "face" of the brand.
Bad Advertising - I came across this on Pandora today. I mean really, you want me to think of her when your brand is mentioned? I guess it's better than "The one with the deer on it." Good Advertising - I think this is self-explanatory. I may go purchase a keg of smart water this evening. BTW - This is a brand new campaign and should launch any day. Any examples OOT? |

Re: Examples of Good vs. Bad Advertising (Usage of Models/Actors)
So what you're saying is that the only way to advertise is to use a well known actress instead of a standard print model? I'm sure the makers of Cazadores don't have the bankroll that Glaceau has, therefore cannot pay $2 million or whatever Jennifer Aniston requires to show her likeness.

[/ QUOTE ] No, obviously advertising requires several components to be successful - including an interesting headline, copy, graphics/images, layout, relevance to target audience, clarity of message, etc. However, nothing works in that first ad. We could also turn this into a hot women in advertising thread, which was another intention of mine. |

Care to explain why you feel that the first one is bad and the second isn't? So far all you have does is say "Pic A: I think this is bad. Pic B: I think this is good."

I was at the beach this morning, and a plane pulling an advertisement was advertising Subway. I guess they thought beachgoers had never heard of Subway, and would run from the beach in search of some Subway nearby. Worst advertising ever.

Is an example of best and worst "Head On"? I mean those commercials are so annoying I never want to use that product, but at least I have heard of the product and know what its supposed to be used for...

One time I was jogging and I saw a billboard for Grey's Anatomy on the side of the road. WTF like cars have TVs in them or something? Morans. -Al |
