Whenever I go to the locker room at Bally's (Total Fitness, not the casino) about 10% of the people are walking around completely naked.
I know that this happens in locker rooms everywhere, but I cannot imagine myself being comfortable naked in front of so many strangers. If they just got out of the shower and needed to change into street clothes, I wouldn't mind so much (towel changing might be difficult for older folks). But I've seen wayyyy too many people shaving naked in front of the shower without a care in the world. There are times where I have to look at the ground or the ceiling to avoid seeing another man's unit. Maybe if they all looked like Patrick Antonius it wouldn't be so bad, but the naked ones are oftentimes some of the least attractive people at the gym. It seems that most of the naked people are over 40 years old... I wonder if that is significant. |

I hate this. I don't want to see someone's junk when I go to the gym. If you have to change and be naked for a minute that's fine; I can deal with it, but there is no need to go around proving how cool you are by chilling naked in a locker room full of men, imo. It drives me crazy and it's the main reason (in addition to horrific locker room stench) that I don't go to the gym anymore.

[/ QUOTE ] I forgot to mention in the OP that I cannot stand the 85 degree, 100% humidity, stench of sweat and urine conditions of most locker rooms. I guess if you have a lot of people walking around naked you don't want the room to get too cold... actuallyyyy... that might fix the naked problem since some people would be embarrassed by shrinkage issues. |

At first glance I thought, OP is being a nit it's a locker room. But you're right, this shouldn't go on. The excessive walking around naked is bothersome.

I've always thought it was weird not to at least put your underwear on when you're dry, if you're gonna shave or something. What's really weird is when you see guys reading a book or something there in the nude. WTF, go home.

I love this; I frequently go to the gym for the sole purpose of checking out some 40-year-old packages.

Yeah these guys are pretty much 100% gay and in denial and getting their jollies. It's disgusting.
You don't have to keep it covered all the time, you can be naked to walk to the showers and dry off and get dressed, but these old freaks stand around naked and chat with each other. |

During college my home/summer gym decided to put this enormous flat screen television in the little seating area before the lockers.
The first few times, I loved this, I'd sit there while I tied my shoes, packed my bag, etc. Then I was in there changing during the 9th inning of a red sox game. someone goes "whoaaa" to a routine play, next thing I know, you got eight overweight soaking wet naked guys running full sprint towards me. then they all just cross their arms and stand there, full naked, for like 20 minutes watching the game. showering, sauna, steam room, walking around, changing, naked is fine. i dont expect you to try and shimmy your clothes on under a towel, who cares, its just nudity. what the gym is not, however, is a nudist colony. |

Are there people who change under a towel? That seems just as wierd, at the other end of the spectrum.
