$ 25: top set on scary flop, short handed
Feel that I misplayed every street (except the turn...?) in this hand. Reraise pre? How do you play the flop? Villain wasn't to active- don't think he had raised out of the SB prior to this hand, but I don't have that many hands with him

Re: $ 25: top set on scary flop, short handed
Given how short handed the game is, It is safe to say that villian is raising with hands other than AAxx from sb. I would not do maximum raise on turn. I would raise to 9 or so to keep in worse sets, qjxx or jtxx, maybe butt end straight.

Okay, thanks. How about preflop and the flop?

Re: $ 25: top set on scary flop, short handed
Flop is fine. Raising the flop folds out weak hands and gets re-raised by flopped straights, unless you have been aggressively reraising flops with air as well as the nuts. Preflop is fine by me because you get to play deeper flop and foward. Also, if opponent were to 4-bet you preflop you will have committed more than 1/5 your stack, with the villian willing to fire at a lot of flops.
