tips for buying a suit
i'll be interviewing for a job soon, and i'm shopping for a suit today. i know little about clothes and even less about businesswear, so i hope some of you can give me some tips on what to look for. i've already been told to look for light weight wool.
i'll be interviewing for academic jobs, so the suit should be conservative. i'll probably get something in light grey with no pinstripes and with two buttons. besides wearing the suit for interviews, i'll also have to wear it during 90 minute seminars that i'll be giving. |

Wow, it must be fashion day in OOT.
Anyway, just hit up Mens Warehouse and tell them how much you want to spend. They'll hook you up right. |

Re: tips for buying a suit
First suit, I'd go with navy or charcoal (no stripes). I buy all my suits at Jos A Banks. I hit the clearance racks and usually get a nice suit for less than $300 total.
Get a few different colored shirts, black dress shoes and 4-5 ties and you should be set for a while. |

Re: tips for buying a suit
Get either dark grey or navy. Navy is useful because you can separate the jacket and wear as a blazer; grey is a little more understated which can be a benefit for some interviews.
Make sure it fits, meaning, that the shoulders and chest lie flat against you on the front and back. A mediocre suit that fits well looks better than an expensive suit that fits poorly. Find a salesman who you think is dressed well and approach him. Chances are he'll match your style and dress you appropriately. |

http://www.themorningnews.org/archiv...rt_1_suits.php classic article. this should be all you need [/ QUOTE ] Article sucks. I'd rather buy a linen suit than a cotton one. |

Just wear the one in your avatar, just don't wear the pink shirt, as that will create the wrong impression and you may incur some prejudices.
Also wear a watch as it will make you look smarter and only mention poker as a hobby. |
