bodog 10k -- Bubble w/ JJ
i believe at this point there are around 15 people left (paying top 9), i am either 2nd or 3rd in chips, average chip count is around 8-9K. Unfortunately Villian is new to the table so no reads at all.
Blinds: 150-300 25ante UTG (5,093) MP (5,5145) Villian (34,512) BTN (10,494) SB (10,167) Hero (20,273) Preflop: Hero is BB w/ JJ 1 fold, MP calls 300, Villian raises to 1200, BTN calls 1200, SB folds, Hero calls 1200, MP folds Flop : 4c 6d 7d (4200) Hero checks, Villian bets 5000, BTN folds, Hero....? im feeling like the biggest mistake i made was not repopping preflop. I really didnt want to build a big pot OOP against the chip leader, but i suppose that happened anyway, so now im lost with either option.... |

Re: bodog 10k -- Bubble w/ JJ
Yes, you made things much tougher with the flat call preflop. While you build a bigger pot with a PF raise, you also make a lot of flops that are scary (like this one, with no info) much more benign.
Hooks are especially vulnerable to a villain that is likely to be aggro, in this case because of his big chip lead. There is no such thing as a safe flop unless you make it expensive for him to get there. If he's playing bully well, his strategy is to apply pressure but retreat in the face of opposition. Also, if he calls with a good but not great hand the PF raise can cause the pot to grow more slowly, because he has to be concerned with you check/raising. any action you take at this point in the hand as played is a guess, so I would probably have to take the safe route and give it up. |

I would have led out on the flop, he probably would have folded, I would just call his 5k and see what he does from there, you will still have ~13k which is still a great stack, If he fires another bullet then he probably has you beat, but he definately is going to be scared when you call that bet, he might just check it down to you on the turn, shrug

Re: bodog 10k -- Bubble w/ JJ
As played it is an easy crai.
But I would squeeze pre. I dont like leading the flop here because of ur relative position |

Re: bodog 10k -- Bubble w/ JJ
Everyone says reraise pf here. Then do you call a push, getting 67bb in with JJ?

This is the easiest PF reraise/push ever.

push preflop, his flop overbet is somewhat strange and can mean lots of things but as played c/r ai.

Re: bodog 10k -- Bubble w/ JJ
I def wouldnt push 20k preflop to win like 3200. Id proly make it like 5k so that we give him an oppurtunity to make a mistake with a lower pair postflop.
Obviously calling a shove getting 1.8-1 |
