Is this too thin, or is fr making me a wimp?
Villain seems tight/nitty (10/4/.5 after 200) im not sure if those are standardish stats. his name sounds somewhat familiar 'treysfull21' for anyone who knows him.
im running 17/14/4 in 6m id usually just close my eyes and vb here, but something about the inherent nittiness of full ring made me check it back (i did catch a slight hint of c/r, but probably me being paranoid villain didnt seem too tricky.) Re: Is this too thin, or is fr making me a pussy?
I check behind. I don't see any hand that hero beats that will call or any hand that beats Hero that will fold. OOP, I'd block bet this river. In position, I much rather check since villain probably has a weaker pair or a flush draw that missed. If he's been slowplaying a strong hand, I don't want to give him an opportunity to c/r me. I also don't want to be pushed off the hand by a J or something similar that raises strongly.
Pretty much, no point in betting here most of the time. EDIT: The fact that this is a steal situation might change the data. Anyone think a VB is better? I'm pretty sure it's not since villain called to the river, but... |

I'm usually all about advocating for thin value bets but in this case I think the best play is to check behind.

Re: Is this too thin, or is fr making me a wimp?
k, just checking up. villain berated me in chat afterwards, so i figured id see what everyone thought. it seemed like a check against this opponent.
i do think the fact that its a steal is somewhat significant, and my betsizes were a bit suspicious (i bet 12 instead of 14 on flop last second, and made my turn bet big due to board texture, seems inconsistent looking back.) either way, i check and beat aj. |

Re: Is this too thin, or is fr making me a wimp?
I check behind here. it might be losing a bit of value but I'd just be happy to have made a hand with showdown value and just show it down.

Re: Is this too thin, or is fr making me a wimp?
theres pretty much no value to be had in this situation. this is a clear check even in 6m
