take a shot or not?
So, I've been playing .5/1 lhe and have been on a pretty sick heater. Ive came ahead 12 out of 13 tables. Ive got $390 in my account right now. I know you are supposed to have 300-400 big bets to play a limit game... but due to the fact that the game seems pretty beatable to me should I take a shot with 1/2?

Re: take a shot or not?
Sure. I would only risk 100 BB in your current limit though.

Re: take a shot or not?
Game select carefully.
Play short sessions. Leave quickly if you lose early. Play tight for a couple rounds until you get comfortable with the increased stakes. Go for it. good luck. Eric |

Re: take a shot or not?
There's a fantastic post in the micro's right now regarding bankroll; give it a read.
BTW, if you've won 12 out of 13 times you are running insanely hot right now (IMO). |

Re: take a shot or not?
hey thanks man.
i have a couple of questions! i usually play short-handed and look for games with a medium to high flop percentage and medium to low sized pots ( obviously I am looking for a fairly loose-passive game ). My first question is... should I not play short-handed, lessen the variance, even though short-handed is my game? Second... I am obviously not very good at game selection, as my way of selecting is very basic; what else should I look for before sitting down? Third... should I maybe set-up a stop-loss system for myself and if so what do you think that should be? And lastly... you play stars, i want to railbird you??? |
