I lived with my roommate out in Vegas for a year before finding out we knew eachother from a game called utopia like 5 years prior. Also quite a few Red Alert players in the poker scene. I was top ranked in both those at some point. Computer games/magic not that hard of a transition to poker.

So ElkY is really the good ol' starcraft ElkY?
Thats cool to know. I used to watch plenty of replays of ElkY many years ago when I played SC.

I used to play starcraft and other realtime strategy games ... also first person shooters, simulators, MMORPGs and nearly all other types of games out there. I also used to play a lot of strategy board games.

Actually I am an ambitioned video game player since about 1983 or 1984. I am not excellent at any of the games ... but my skill is normally above average in most of them. (to be top in a video game you need like 6h minimum training per day and the reflexes of a 20 year old ... experience compensates to a certain extend but meanwhile I am too old for any successful hard core gaming action)

Concerning poker: I still kinda suck (making too many bad decisions) ... playing in my spare time for about 6 months now (5K hands / month) ... making small profits at micro stakes (currently NL20 / NL25 depending on site) ... but there hopefully is potential for improvement down the road

I believe that fisheye owns pokerstrategy.de

Nazgul also went from SC to poker. And grrr... The guy who won the PCA in 2007 was an SC player. There're lots of midstakes guys too, like me.
