doyle brunson
he has been touted as the godfather of poker, big poppa, texas dolly, and a legend. but few ppl know the truth behind doyles road to fame and sucess.
doyle has probably made more money cheating and chizzeling ppl out of money than playing, or shall i say he's made all of his money from cheating and manipulations. there are other out there similar to brunson that have been highly regarded like dewey tomoko. i wont go into further details with the countless scams and bogus manipulations doyle has pulled and the billions of dollars he's taken from innocent ppl (not from playing good poker) btw, this stuff is highly confidential and top secret EDITED- I must apologize for being way too vague. Anyway, why did I start this thread? I used to play in a fairly high 40/80 (1/2killor full kill) mix game. They played mostly horse games and added some other crazy games like pineapple and star wars. the game had some of the most sucessful businessman in the midwest including those in the resorts casino industry. they've all got connections and have played with bigger names like doyle, dewey, chip, etc. the funny thing was, not one good word was mentioned about doyle. i dont want to repeat the exact story, but doyle once "used force" to make someone play a pot and lose all there money to another player, who owed doyle money. this was kinda funny after i saw doyle on hsp, getting real annoyed and pissed off over nothing. he's there to play cards and acts like a 2 yr old villian. |

Re: doyle brunson
I'd say the odds of Doyle having shot a man are about 3:1 for. Road gambling back in the day was risky and sometimes guns were involved. Hell, Johnny Moss shot a guy in the ass. If Doyle played 40-80 against some midwestern businessmen, it was probably 1953, back when $80 was a lot of money. Have Doyle and Chip hustled millions of dollars from people over the years in the games they've set up, perhaps even colluding (or more) in the process? Yes, of course. Would the OP be a favorite against Doyle in a HU match, totally on the square? No, not even with Doyle being 117 years old this December.
Regardless of all that, Doyle has done as much as anyone to advance the game of poker. He has profited off of this, to be sure, but so have a lot of the rest of us. In summation: [] Thread delivers. |

Re: doyle brunson
if i were to back this stuff up, and write a long essay, there might be many dissatisfied customers at doyles front door, maybe even the cops.
