UTG limper was kind of tight passive ish (20/5/0.8) over about 300 hands. PF raiser was Villain from the other hand I posted and had been opening a lot. I felt the cold-call was OK given how loose the table and raiser were in combo.

float preflop is cool. flop 3-bet is really bad against a 20/5/0.8. I probably just call down, but folding against a guy like that might be better.

I totally don't understand the line between giving too much action and folding too much. [/ QUOTE ] Well I think its mostly a strategy issue. If a guy is aggressive, you can take advantage of him by calling down your medium to strong hands. If a guy is passive you can take advantage of him by taking free cards on your draws. If you had imaginary percentages next to your hand (like on TV) the call/fold decion would be easy, you'd just compare the pot oods to your winning odds and react accordingly. In reality you will not know the exact odds and you must guess and you must use your experience at reading players to estimate where you stand. This comes from playing a lot of poker and noticing patterns of the different playstyles (Rock, LAG, TAG etc). . . In this hand your Opponent probably has KQ or better, so you should fold after the flop action. (since with 3 outs you would need 14:1 to call) |

My statement was more of a rhetorical one though in that I am off lately and making weird reads too far in one direction or the other and thus bad decisions post-flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sounds like you need to single-table for awhile IMO. If you're putting a rock (or even a fullring unknown honestly) on bottom pairs and underpairs after a checkraise then it would help to make yourself verbalize your reasoning behind the ranges you give your opponents in real-time. |
