Pokertracker software
I'm aware that Poker Tracker and Poker Office are the main programs used for collecting hand histories. Which one do you recommend to a new user? Is there new software coming soon that i should wait for or should i go ahead with something now? I'm also not really sure how PT works or how to use it. Any information regarding this, thoughts, links etc would be appreciated.

Re: Pokertracker software
I'm not currently playing online, so I'm not using any of the programs. Collin Moshman said that Poker Office is easier than Poker Tracker to start with, because the interface is more user friendly. On the other hand, Poker Tracker seems to be more popular.
Another program is Hold 'em Manager. http://www.holdemmanager.net/ . You can do a search to see what 2+2ers say about it. |

Re: Pokertracker software
What this type of software does is take your hand history and build a database of players, hands, and present it to you in a method you can understand.
They are very very powerful tools, and should be part of your online game. Most a pretty easy to use. For instance on PT you simply select auto import hands history for your site and the rest is automatic for non tournament play. The amount of information provide may seem overwhelming, but you'll get used to the basics. Being able to see where your leaks are and other players tendencies is a important step in improving your play. You'll also want a HUD, so you can see players percentages during actual play. |

You can see an example of a HUD here: http://pokeracesoftware.com/ . Also, FreerOllin, be sure to check 2+2 for rakeback information before you open online accounts. This is very important. |

Re: Pokertracker software
Also check out Realtime HUD, it's free and does pretty much the same job as PAHUD.

Re: Pokertracker software
Is there a user guide for PT?
My grey matter isn't the best. Trying to figure out how to get my HH's to display. As of now, they just sit in the folder as .txt files. Is there a decent sample for auto-rating hands? I generally play full ring 10c NL. Cheers |
