Requesting Suggestions for a Math Project
I'm taking an applied math class styled after Gilbert Strang's course at MIT.
We're required to do a small project for the class (approximately 25 hours of work) using MATLAB as a computational aid. The instructor has provided some example projects, mostly optimization problems in electrical or mechanical networks. I could do something along these lines related to my own research, but if someone could suggest something related to poker or game theory, that might actually be more interesting . Anyway, I'd appreciate suggestions for project topics. |

Re: Requesting Suggestions for a Math Project
You could do something similar to Alex Selby's work (use google) - say for strucutured 5-card no-draw poker.
There's plenty of poker-related stuff to do work on. It's unclear how much of it will really work well with engineering problems (which are typically not adverserial) and a bit difficult to pick out what sort of problem will fit into your 25 hour time window. |
