Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
from pokernews.com
Scotty Nguyen Color Blind? Scotty Nguyen had a problem with putting the wrong color chip out for his blig blind. There are three denominations of chips and they're all a varation of orange. The 5,000 chips are orange or tangerine as one staff member called it. The 25,000 chips are peach-colored. The 50,000 are salmon-colored. Depending on the lighting in the Amazon Ballroom and underneath the lights of the ESPN feature table, both players and dealers are having a difficult time figuring out what chips are in play. As one player said, he had to physically look at the numbers on the chips to determine what he's betting. Since all the chips are very similar to each other, action has slowed down while players make extra precautions before betting. Dealers are also having a tougher time counting down stacks and bets. Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
Just what they need. What's going to be the slowest day of the entire ME is going to have another hour or two added onto it cause of the [censored] chip colors.

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
There is not a single brain on the tournament committee. Nobody thought of mixing up the different shades for different stages of the tournament?

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
this really should be considered a MASSIVE screwup because this has been known for a while. these chips were used for previous events too.

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
I have no idea what idiot thought it would be a good idea to have the 3 highest denomination chips so close in color.
Same problem last year with the 5000's and 25000's, but at least the black 10000's were easy to tell apart and separate the two, and the green 100000's were also easy to identify. This year, someone was clearly brain dead. Hopefully they'll get new chips next year, but I think it may become industry standards for the major casinos to update tourney chips almost every year because of volume and to prevent pocketing. |

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
The three colors in play are red/orange, peach, and pink, LOL. That's just classic.

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
Seems obvious that you would have a cycle of distinct colours that would only be duplicated once the previous chip of a smaller denomination gets coloured-out of the tourney.
Like its fine for the 100 chips and 25k chips to be the same colour since the 100 chips get taken out of play before the 25k chips come into play. |

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
Just wait until the 100K comes into play. It's lavender, making four denominations very similar in colour.

Re: Another Harrah\'s Screw Up
Do it like in Europe. Use placards for 100K and up.
