Default Checkup: J8s from the BB

MP3 stats are unknown. CO is tight/passive over enough hands.

This hand looks good to me.

That is the way I would play the hand up to this point.

I would now check the call box.

Standard, no? Let MP3 take a shot at the pot with missed overs/flush draw instead of betting him off of it.

I agree with the way you played that hand.

On the flop, it is important to bet in case you have the best hand, since your hand is very vulnerable.

On turn, the same idea apply, your hand is vulnerable and you have to bet, no one raised you on the flop, so your hand might be good.

On the river, your hand is now much weaker. I guess I would check. Would I call a bet? I don't know. I think it is very close. I would be tempted to fold. Except against a known bluffer.

I think it's very important we call a river bet. One benefit of checking is we sometimes will induce a bluff from the villain. Given the board and the way the hand has played, I think he could very easily have a worse hand than ours.

You are probably right.

What hands do you think he would bluff with?

Must call a river bet here as it is most likely a bluff. Plus in a limit game its only 1 bet vs the many in the pot already. Pot odds demand you call.

When I checked the river, I was definitely planning on calling a bet.

Bet it. Ax is relieved to take a free showdown but will likely call if you bet.

I like the river check to try and induce a bluff. I think most of the time you're up against a busted spade draw that won't call a river bet anyway. I think you're more likely to be bluffed at by a high card than you are to be called by someone with as little as a high card, especially if that card is a spade. I like the play.
