Re: Calldown with 99
At first glance I don't really like playing it so passively, but it's tough to find a spot to get a raise in. I think calling pf is fine with such a passive raiser and so many callers. Actually, I think a c/r on the flop is the way to go, then bet out the turn. On the river, you beat almost nothing, so as played I think a fold is fine.

Re: Calldown with 99
We have the worst hand/worst draw, best/best, or one or the other and no way of knowing which. With the w/w we get reamed hard. With the b/b we pick up the pot right there on the flop collecting no further bets. With one or the other we are oop and completely in the dark in a reversed IO situation, donking diamonds and getting raised or checking blanks and missing bets.
Bloating this pot can't be good. |

Re: Calldown with 99
I'll fold the river.
He's pretty passive and raised UTG, so his range is pretty tight (Ax, big pairs) unless we have a read on his open-raises (lots of 50/10 raise 64s preflop and open-limp AKo, that's true). So he has a better hand in the flop than 99 the majority of the time, possibly a better diamond draw, a c/r is spew IMO because we'll win when we hit, and not always. If the river is a diamond I think bet/folding against a very passive player is OK, but I see merit to c/c also, because I don't trust fish since sometimes they play non-nut straights in 3-flush boards for 8BB, so if he has AA he's popping a 4-flush river more than 0% of the time. |

Re: Calldown with 99
Yes, you don't beat anything besides lower pocket pairs and this type might not even raise with those preflop nevermind bet the flop, turn or river with them.

Re: Calldown with 99
Nice hand. I would play the same way. Such a passive player definitely has us beat on the river.

[ QUOTE ]
Villain is 46/9/0.66 Final board 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Should I fold the river? [/ QUOTE ] 9% PFR is roughly 88+,ATs+,KTs+,QJs,AJo+,KQo not to mention that this 0.66 guy 3-barrels. Which of those hands do you beat? edit to say that the range may be a little off and might need some adjusting for 6m especially given that I don't know what I'm doing at the moment.... |
