Help with DVD playback... they look pixely
hey all,
I just reinstalled windows, and Im having some problems getting DVDs to look right. Basically, they looked very pixelated. I made sure to install up to date video drivers (radeon 8500) and have tried several different DVD playing programs. Also... just as an aside, Im not sure if this is important but in CP -> display -> settings, I can no longer go beyond 1600*1200 (the size of my monitors), but I know before I resinstalled windows I could go to higher resolutions. |

Re: Help with DVD playback... they look pixely
Enable Hardware Acceleration in the player.
Just one detail though, you need to have the player stopped, i.e. no video showing in order to enable hardware acceleration. If you try to enable it while playing a DVD, the option will appear grayed out. |

Re: Help with DVD playback... they look pixely
hmm, sadly it was already set to full, both in the program, and in display->settings
also, not sure if this helps, but ive noticed the problem goes away after a split second of movement. For example, a DVD menu looks grainy, then looks good since its a still image. Of course, any video has the problem since any imgae isnt on long enough. |
