Default 1 limper to you...

Assume 100BB stacks each and no reads:

UTG limps you are UTG+1 what hands are you calling/raising?

MPx limps you are next to act what hands are you raising/ calling with?

Approximately the top 15% im calling. Im gonna raise jj-AA, and AK, possibly some others depending on how weak tight the table is.
You cant really get good answers here...I think everyone has a decent idea of how to play pre-flop.
The real question is...how well can you play after the flop? Thats when the big money comes in.

and the real answer is ian plays better than you postflop so are you saying if you limp in then he should call with ATC (might not be a huge mistake)?

It really depends primarily on the players you have left behind as well as how comfortable you feel playing. Should this be treated as a normal 1/2 game (ie 1 super-nit, the_main ([censored] is always at my tables), 2 other 2p2 TAGs, 1 unknown TAG, a mediocre LAG, one shortstack and a fish)? If not what conditions does the game take place, I think you need more parameters than just position to even come close to finding an answer.

If he is playing me and has position, he is losing money every time he folds.

first one: raise most pairs, probably limp the small ones, raise AJ+ KQ, limp some big sc's like JTs KJs, T9s

Scenario 1 I'm overlimping 22-88, suited broadways other than AQ and AK, and sometimes the larger suited connectors. As long as Ian Barns or Bottomset aren't on the button. Raise 99+ and AQs/AK.

Scenario 2 my range opens up as I am closer to the button. Assuming I'm in the cutoff, any suited connector, any pair, some of the suited gap connectors, AJ+, ATs+.

Basically the same as my UTG opening range. I limp behind with a small pair here sometimes.

Much wider raising range than above.

All dependent on the players to my left.

First one...

I will tend to raise JJ+/AK/(maybe)AQ.
I limp suited connectors down to 54s/99-22/Axs/any two suited cards 10 or higher not listed already.

Second one is about the same except I promote TT/99/(maybe)88-66/AQ to raises. I will also started adding in some one-gappers.

Some of these hands become raises or folds depending.

I will usually play the same range that I would open with, but I will be more inclined to limp behind small to medium pairs and SC's in spots where I would usually raise first in, in order to encourage multiway action.
