Default $16t - Am I the fish?

First time I have ever posted a hand here, just starting to try and play SNG's seriously. Been playing the $16's on Stars. Don't have the hand history, as I am at work, so this is off memory.

I am headsup with villain. He has around 7.5k, I have around 6k. Blinds are at 400/800 IIRC. Villain completes in the SB, I check with in BB with 3/5s. Flop comes Q,6,4 all different suits, giving me open ender. Villain checks, I push or check for free card?

TIA for any responses. Will post my action in a bit.

Personally I would act here according to the information on villain: he is tight - bet, loose - check. But push - never

I was wrong on the blind sizes apparently, as there was almost as many chips in the pot as I had left. Any bet would of been most of my stack, so it was either push or check.

then you should push. if he pushes, you're getting 2:1, which is about even poy-odds, and with a short stack, you have to take thae gamble. so push, since that gives you fold equity as well.

That was my thought also when he checked to me. So I pushed. Didn't expect a call but I got one. He turned over K/4 offsuit for bottom pair.

Turn brought an 8 to complete my straight and basically cripple him to just over 1k in chips. Thats when the berating begain.

Didn't think my play was unreasonable and the name calling doesn't bother me. But since I am still learning, wanted others opinions. The name calling just made it ever better when I won it 2 hands later.

You played it correctly. Berating is always a good time. I just have the chat off. It will make you a better player.

As you described it in the OP just bet a little under the pot. As described here you can push.
